emdr therapy —

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is also helpful in alleviating other mental health concerns, including, but not limited to: relational trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, and grief. This treatment, through the use of bilateral stimulation techniques, activates our innate healing system within us. It helps you reprocess traumatic memories that are negatively affecting your present.

EMDR includes components of mindfulness and body awareness, which means that this form of therapy can bring up uncomfortable emotions and body sensations. Through that process, EMDR can help you overcome your blocks and release the pain that has been keeping you stuck all these years, so that you can uncover and embrace who you really are outside of those entrenched negative beliefs. EMDR can be an effective form of treatment if traditional talk therapy has not been helpful in reaching your wellness goals. In both my professional and personal experience, I have witnessed just how powerful EMDR can be - some clients experience lasting relief in just a few sessions.

fees —

My standard rate is $195 per 45 minute therapy session.

If you discover that the standard 45 minute session is too limited of a timeframe, I offer extended sessions for 60 minutes at $260 and 75 minutes at $325. The fee is based on the prorated amount above.

I am considered an “out-of-network” provider for most insurance PPO plans, which means that our sessions will be my standard rate. I provide a monthly superbill - this is an itemized receipt of your mental health services that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many insurance companies provide out-of-network reimbursement once you have met your deductible. I strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to learn what options are available to you. Here is a list of questions to ask your insurance provider to help you gain a better understanding of what it is like to work with an out-of-network provider:

1. What are my out-of-network mental health benefits?
2. Do I need an approval from my primary care physician?
3. Do I need to complete an authorization form for behavioral health services?
4. What is my deductible and how much of it has been met?
5. Is there a number of sessions or a duration of time that my sessions will be covered? If so, when do I need to renew?
6. What is the reimbursement rate to work with an out-of-network provider?
7. How do I submit my superbill for reimbursement?

Providing affordable and accessible therapy is important to me. I reserve several sliding scale spots in my schedule at $135 for those with financial constraints. Feel free to ask me if these spots are available. In addition, I work with Open Path Collective and reserve a few low-cost spots at $70 for BIPOC folx. You are welcome to search for my profile on there to see if I am accepting new clients. If I am unable to offer you a sliding scale fee, I am more than happy to help you find affordable clinicians in the area.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Currently, all sliding scale spots are full. I do not offer a waitlist at this time.

Payment is due at the time of session. I accept cash, check, all major credit cards, and debit cards, including Flex Spending and HSA cards.

good faith estimate —

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. The estimated costs are valid for 12 months from the date of the Good Faith Estimate. This estimate will include service codes and any diagnostic codes that may have been determined.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
